EGB – Everything Gets Better
Lasting change doesn’t come from external circumstances or demands — it comes from a powerful enough internal need. From you and me — from within ourselves.
We live in a time where pressure for change is everywhere — outside and inside. That’s why it’s essential to find your way back to yourself. To restore that vital connection, or build it from the ground up.
Much of our mental suffering — anxiety, depression — stems from losing this connection. We see it in the larger picture too, as the world seethes in pain.
In the midst of that pain, trusting in positive change is hard. When the thread to ourselves breaks, we search for replacements outside. The market is ready to sell us anything for our pain — and we buy.
Inadequacy and hunger for power. Violence and wars. Spiritual blindness. All examples of losing our true selves. Of no longer recognizing who we are. And with that, we lose our connection to each other — enabling endless cycles of violence.
The same pattern plays out in our economies. Finite resources are treated as an infinite source of growth. Chasing this impossible equation has disconnected us from what truly matters — wellbeing, connection, sufficiency. This structure creates a legacy where ruthless competition and inequality parade as the emperor’s new clothes.
Post-growth thinking asks: what if enough were the goal, not more? What if we measured success by how well we live — not how much we produce?
Trusting in positive change doesn’t mean naive over-optimism. It means knowing and feeling — from your own experience — that things can change for the better. Even when everything feels hopeless or impossible.
I have walked that path. I know it’s possible.
Joy. Everything gets better.
